Thank you very much for that one glorious line, "Growth is what happens in a nurturing environment." That is going on the wall in my studio. It really is an important line for me. Be well & take good care of yourself.
Thank you for that. Difficult times - I liked your line: "I watch the spring unfolding on my walks every day and find myself captured by how nature continues its cycles even as fear and uncertainly shower around us." That is how I feel; nature, the seasons, my family are still achieving, birthing, dying, living, loving, and celebrating. We must not lose our focus on that which sustains us but we must protect what we love, which many of us had always taken for granted, which I admit I had also done, our Democracy. As flawed as it was it really is quite remarkable; and that is what I want for my grown children, my 18 year old grandaughter, and my soon to be born granddaughter. To have the rights that I have had, that their Mother's and Grandmother's had. So I made a sign and just went to my first protest at age 68 a few weeks ago, and plan on going to another this Friday in a little seaside town south of Boston so that hopefully they too will have the same rights.
Totally understandable. I’ve unsubscribed from getting emails from everyone, but I still check some people’s posts on the app or online. I’m (naively) optimistic that (eventually) our country will regain our morality.
I saved your post to read another day and here I am a month later… so, I definitely relate to what you have shared! There is so much to say and yet the words feel stuck. And right when I think I’ve collected my thoughts there’s something else that catches my breath. No doubt this is all connected to the (absolutely unnecessary) chaos around us all. I have drafts of work around values and community - things that I see so many of us wrestling with - and they remain drafts for now. It all makes so much sense. May we keep wrestling and finding our way through.

I’m so glad that line found you, Janisse! Thanks so much for reading.

You are so right that many of us have taken things for granted. I know I have. Thank you for all you are doing to fight for the future!

I hope you are right! Thanks for reading, Marina.

It’s good to know I’m not alone. Definitely connected to the chaos.
